This mat has a numberline to 20 and the child will be encouraged to add and subtract using the numberline. This will be interactive by jumping forwards or backwards to work out the addition or subtraction.
Step 1: Give your child a sum or ask them what sum they would like to work out.
Step 2: Go to the number at the start of the sum
Step 3: Encourage your child to jump forwards or backwards depending on the question then emphasise they jump the amount the number states.
This could also be used to support your childs homework while adding and subtracting.
